PC vendors scramble as Intel announces vulnerability in firmware : article about CPU exploit that requires "firmware" upgrade.

CPU: Intel Core i7 920
MOBO: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P6X58D PREMIUM (LGA1366)
Risk Assessment Program Results:
Code:
Detection Error: This system may be vulnerable, please install the Intel(R) MEI/TXEI driver (available from your system manufacturer).

What is recommended to secure my CPU considering that I build my PC and don't have a vendor to get an upgrade from?

Solution
Your update would come from your motherboard vendor. I doubt that any updates will be done for a motherboard that old. Your method to secure it is probably to replace it.
