Do I need a better PSU? And is this a "good" (subjective of course) build?

So first thing's first, I am a relatively new to PC building, albeit being an avid gamer. I am building my first custom PC that I chose the parts for after tons of research, but I'm still skeptical about my PSU. I will have a Ryzen 5 1600X, MSI GeForce GTX 1070 8GB, and Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3000. After searching the Internet and using the free online PSU calculators and such, I have found that I only need roughly 400W, and I ordered an EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650W 80+ Gold Fully Modular ATX PSU.

Sorry for the lengthy intro, but my questions are: is the PSU more than enough? And is this a good, solid build for mid to maybe high end gaming/productivity?

Edit: Last question, hopefully, should I run an open air test bench first to see if all my parts are working? I've become spooked from a few negative reviews of people who have received defective parts (dead pixels on monitors, bent pins, etc.), so I was wondering if I'm just being paranoid, or I should actually test it out before putting it all together.
