Hi Guys,

I need to upgrade my GPU and I am confused between GTX 1060 and RX 580. As I need it for productivity and gaming as well. The softwares I frequently use are: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premier, Autodesk Maya, 3Ds Max and Zbrush. Also my computer rig consists of:

CPU: Intel i7 4790
CPU Cooler: Cryorig M9i
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16gb ddr3
Motherboard: Asus H97 Pro Gamer
GPU: Gigabyte gtx 950 Xtreme Edition
PSU: Thermaltake Smart 650 Watt
SSD: Samsung 840 Evo 240 GB
HDD: Seagate 2TB Barracuda
Case: Corsair 100R

While during my research I found out that Autodesk Maya does not fully support RX 580. Like: XGen hair renders incorrectly in DirectX 11 viewport mode. Flickering may occur with GPU override animation playback.

Also I am an Nvidia user since more than 10 years and haven't used any AMD GPUs. While watching so many reviews I found that RX 580 is much more future proof for gaming but I don't know that RX 580 would support my productivity applications. Help me out guys.

1060 6gb is the best choice

no such thing as future proof, both cards trade blows in gaming but only one supports cuda
