Disabled touchpad (Toshiba) keeps getting reenabled

I have a wireless mouse and really have no need to enable the touchpad on my Toshiba Satellite L75-A7271.

So I disabled it via the FN+F5 keystroke combination.

ISSUE:
Suddenly while I am typing away I must press some unintended key (or keystroke combo other than FN+F5) that re-enables the touchpad -- much to my surprise and regret.

I say "regret" because I can be typing a tweet or a comment on a web page like this one and SUDDENLY another page appears or the current page gets overwritten and I LOSE ALL MY TYPED DATA. Ugh!!

Anyone have a clue as to what may cause the touchpad to suddenly re-enable? It would be greatly appreciated.

Hope you all had an enjoyable Thanksgiving with minimal political arguments and lots of yummy leftovers.

Solution
Since my 'fix' on November 26th I have not had an instance where my disabled touchpad was accidentally re-enabled while typing a tweet or a comment (as described above).

So I consider this issue as SOLVED.

The fix was to change the Elan touchpad properties via Control Panel > Mouse. You then need to select the tab named Elan. This will bring up a dialog box with a button labeled OPTIONS.

Simply click OPTIONS -- then uncheck every checkbox that is checked.
Bingo!! It worked for me.
