A couple of years ago I bought an HP computer with an i7 4970s and a gtx 745 videocard. But now my videocard is slow and so is the rest of my system and I want to make a new system with my old CPU(and the rest new)
It's still quite good an I have no money to buy a new CPU. When I was searching on pcpartpicker for a new lga1150 motherboard there was a warning :
"Some Intel B85 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Haswell Refresh CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions." So I have two options:
I use my old mobo that was on my computer(hp pavillion 500-306nd) and don't have to worry about that BIOS update, but have maybe less performance and shit (It has an old Hewlett-Packard 2AF7 version 1.04, and BIOS: AMI, 80.15)
Or get a new mobo and put my old CPU in and maybe take it to an local pc store so they can use an older CPU to install the correct BIOS.

Solution
It is unlikely you would have an issue unless you purchase a used board. There is no guarantee what BIOS rev a used board would have. A new board shouldn't have a problem because it has been many years since the 4xxx series of CPUs was released.

If you swap motherboards, you will have to purchase a new copy of the OS because the license you have is tied to the HP motherboard you have now.

1. Can you just get new graphic card to replace GTX 745? There are low profile GTX 1050 or 1050Ti if your case is very small width.
2. If you wants to use your 4790s, buy a used H97 mobo. Check manufacturer mobo website to see whether you need to update bios just because it is 4790s
