I have wireless internet, router access is my bedroom. Wireless cannot reach throughout house. We have tried everything and have been told it's bc of house design and too many windows. My office is on the other side of the house. The guy who built our home was very techy and had computers everywhere. As such, in the office there is a jack with 2 ports, one marked telephone the othe adsl. My question is, can I access this adsl line in tandem to have internet access in my office while not changing the other set up?

The way ADSL internet connection works is to have (analog) telephone connected to a splitter at the very entrance into the dwelling and it splits signal for (analog)phone and digital internet signal. As long as any ADSL modem is connected to that digital side you can connect as many modems as you want. They will (of course) share bandwidth with each other and phone.

I've been doing research and read that if you have more than one modem they will not work together at the same time....is this correct? Or can I have 2 modems working simultaneously due to the set up of the independent Adsl line in my office?
