RAM usage at idle.

I went to task manager and for some reason my PC which has 8GB ram seems to be using 3gb ram at idle. It also says the highest ram usage at idle is like 60mb by lots of different processes. So basicly my PC is using a lot of ram but no process seems to be using it. I scanned my PC for viruses just in case and it also said everything is ok.

Depends on OS but that number is about right. There's a lot going on in the background even at idle. Also check your startup programs and disable what you don't need.

Oh thank you really much. I mostly got worried because i saw two kinds of threads here when i googled the issue i was having. The others were basicly saying that it's ok and the others said that it might be because of some virus. Also just an extra question in case you check this, do you think i should upgrade to 16gb for gaming?
