Greetings,
About a month ago the time on my computer started slacking. After some research I found out it had to do with the CMOS battery being faulty. After replacing the battery I started up my PC and at the point where the windows logo comes up, it freezes halfway and immediately shuts off.
My specs are:
OS: Windows 7
Core: Intel I7-2600 @ 3.40 GHz
Motherboard: Dell Optiplex 990
Videocard: Nvidia Geforce gtx 750
Memory installed: 12 Gigabyte
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 1000GB
I think I have rooted out that it is not a faulty hard drive. This is because I switched the hard drive with another and the same problem occurred. So I speculate the problem lies with the motherboard. Now I hope to god that it is a software issue and not a hardware issue due to the fact that I just recently bought this computer in the summer and I'm not the lavish spender type.
I have tried to startup the computer with 2 different CMOS batteries without any prevail. I CAN startup the computer under System Recovery though, which mean I can access the Command Prompt or the System Restore option.
I hope I am not the only one having to deal with this issue, and if anyone has any advice whatsoever, I would be pleased to know.
Many Thanks,
Ron
