A few days ago I was playing Assassin’s Creed Origins when the entire system suddenly shut down when in a cutscene (played in high settings). I could not get any display at all with my EVGA 970 ftw. Today I remembered I had an old 660ti and hooked it up and was able to get to BIOS. As soon as I turned it on, the CPU Thermaltake liquid cooling pump is making a horrible noise and CPU is very hot.

Prior to changing the GPU I had no noise. Which is leading me to believe it’s a power issue.

This is the first time I’ve had any issue.

Thank you in advance

What sort of sound in the pump making? If its a gurgling its jsut air, if it a grinding or other mechanical sounding noise that's more serious.

You can buy a Corsair CX550-750 watt Bronze rated PSU for pretty cheap right now, usually 30-50 USD depending on sales and rebates so its not a huge expense.

Thank you for responding. Almost sounds like a grinding from the pump that gets louder when the CPU starts working harder and temps go up. I’ve seen a video about air in the tubing but can’t seem to stop it from moving the radiator or pump in different positions.

Tried 660 ti and got display. Reinstalled 970 ftw and no display.
