Hi,

I have using my desktop since 2011 and it been working fine from then. I am facing a problem with it now in booting.

My desktop PC doesnt boot and the CPU led is red. I have checked the PSU using multimeter it works fine and i have re installed the ram after removing it and also checked whether there is a problem in Processor pins. they are all fine.

Please suggest me what would be the problem here.

If you have a dedicated videocard try to boot with your integrated videocard. If it does teh same on integrated videocard then the motherboard is your only culprit possible. Check the capacitors near the cpu power circuit if you find any bloated or cracked or looking sspicious then you can fix it, if not you must change motherboard.

Hi All,

Thanks for the help in fixing this, I purchased new SMPS and connected it and it works fine.

Please note that even though the output of SMPS has the output voltages as required, There can be a hidden problem with SMPS which will have issues in booting the PC.
