Hey all.

I have a HP Designjet 500 Plus 42" printer that i use to print canvas prints. Recently the colours have started playing up and i cant work out why, the printer has the latest firmware and drivers installed, i have ran a colour calibration and realigned the heads.

The colours seem to start out OK but then turn kind of reddish, some print OK then some print with this red tint(see below image).

Has anybody experienced anything like this before? Any idea as to what may be causing it?

Thanks in advance.

If intermittent then there may be a clog or defective cartridge.

Are you using legitimate HP cartridges? Or sure that your source is providing real ones versus counterfeit/reloaded?

What software are you using to edit and print the images? The software could be the source of the problem - even if intermittent. Some "perfect storm" of code and hardware.

See if you can diagnose the issue a bit more:

The idea being you are able to determine the ink mix or lack thereof causing the reddish tint.

Hi. Thanks for your reply.

I have replaced all print heads and cartridges purchased from a reputable online retailer, i am using Photoshop CS6, i have tried resetting Photoshop back to default settings.

What i dont get is whenever i print perform a colour calibration all colours on the test sheet print out perfect.
