I didn't play any games for the last 2 weeks because I was mining ETH using Claymore Miner (XFX RX 580 also hooked up via Riser Cable). I bought H1Z1 Yesterday and I was getting 20-40 FPS and also my CPU Usage at 100% and my GPU at 20-40%. I tried to lower all the settings down as I can, it didnt chage any thing I thought it might just be a bad optimization. Then I tried playing Witcher 3 (I used to get 65 FPS @ 1440p at almost maxed) I got 30-40 FPS @ 1440p at same settings my CPU Usage at 100% and my GPU at 60-80%, lowered all the settings down same thing it didn't changed. I also tried Heaven and Valley benchmark @1440p and @1080p it was fine. I also uninstalled and installed Nvidia Drivers.

PC Specs:
CPU: i5-6600k 4.3 Ghz
Cooler: Cooler Master T4
GPU: Asus Strix 1070 Non OC Edition
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 8GB
MOBO: Asus Z170 Pro Gaming
PSU: EVGA 750 G2
Monitor: Asus MG279Q

Solution
Make sure there is no additional mining going on in the background.
I'm not knowleged about mining, but I know there are some distributed computing programs that start working when the system is idling.
Perhaps you have lowered your CPU to reduce power draw.
Cculd be a mining virus. when not using the system extensively you might not notice.

And something from a different angle: I play Planetside 2, which uses the same engine as H1Z1, and CPU usage there is quite high as well. It might just be the engine/the game, our could be a quirk of PS2, try other games. If they perform odd as well, the issue is not related to H1Z1 itself.

Hello,

Check on task manager and observe which application is taking up the most memory. If it’s an unknown application uninstall it.

One case that can effect computer performance is malware, these can spread slowing down a system. Links down below.

Check for any viruses.

Make sure your computer is not running on intergrated graphics.

Unpark all CPU cores by enabling high performance in power settings.
You can check if the processor cores are parked in the task manager > resource monitor > CPU and check if any graphs on the right are inactive.

When you uninstalled your drivers I assumed you did it through DDU and installed them through GeForce experience? If not try.

Go onto task manager > startup and disable and unneeded programs that automatically launch, or any that can jut be re-opened manually.
