I have been wanting to upgrade my current PC to something that will be able to handle games a lot better than what i have now. I have been searching relentlessly for months now hoping to find a good deal and decided to possibly build one with prices being lower like they currently are. I'm just looking for some tips on if this is too much or things i can possibly improve on for this build.

Personally, I do not recommend building a new gaming PC on Sky/Kabylake platform now, with Coffeelake being out there:

You can scale that back to the 250GB SSD if that would better fit in your budget.

An 8th gen 8400 will deliver similar performance to a 7th gen 7700k at stock in games while still leaving you with an upgrade path. This CPU is very often out of stock nowadays exactly because of its capability at this price point.
A GTX1070Ti is a better buy compare to a GTX1080, delivering almost exactly what a 1080 can do at a lower total cost. The performance difference is often negligible and anything that the 1070Ti can't do, the 1080 can't do either so I'd personally recommend you to save a bit on that and/or use the extra money on the SSD.
The new 3D NAND Blue has higher performance and reliability compare to the older planar NAND Blue at not much price difference (~$5 for the 250GB capacity).
