Hello everyone! I currently have an HTC Vive and finally have convinced myself to upgrade my graphics card. I currently have an EVGA GTX 960 SSC which runs certain VR games just fine but many of my VR games are just too laggy to play with the 960.

My question: What can I get between 400 - 450 USD that has the best price to performance for VR in particular? I have been looking at the EVGA 1070s but can't decide. I would prefer to stay with EVGA but I am open minded to other brands.

The card must be a GTX (Nvidia, not AMD). I do not plan on overclocking this graphics card.

Thank you in advanced!

let me tell you, I had a EVGA 970 4GB. I also use the HTc vive, and I recently had a computer that was at the bottom of the barrel to run it, a lower end i5, 8GB ram, etc. I upgraded all this and then kept my 970. I noticed when simple games like Rec room and the Lab my computer was fine. But when i started to play games like Arizona sunshine and onward i noticed a lot of slutter. So i was in the same predicament as you. i went about two days looking into an upgrade into a 1070, posted on here, and was finally convinced to buy a GTX 1080. Its about another 100-150 dollars depending on which one you get, but let me tell you I am so glad i did. I bought my 970 when it was about the grade of a 1070 and I just replaced it. Having the 1080...

Having the 1080 and knowing its once of the top dogs and that itll last for years to come, and the fact that it is the BEST card for VR, if you can spare the extra money, thats what i would recommend.

but for best price for performance, a 1070 is perfectly fine and will be plenty better then your gtx 960 in anything you throw at it.
here is a EVGA 1070 for you on newegg just under 450.

If you spend a couple extra bucks and get this 1070 ti, (479.99) youre looking at not much different from a 1080. (and its also EVGA)
