My Alienware laptop is wearing out and I’ve decided to sell it and switch to a desktop. The main games I’m wanting to play at a stead frame rate are Skyrim, The Forest, Dead By Daylight, and Friday the 13th; however I have a $800 budget.

Here is a current build my friend and I have put together on NewEgg:
- CASE ROSEWILL GAMING ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

- AMD RYZEN 3 1200 4-Core 3.1 GHz (3.4 GHz Turbo) Socket AM4 65W YD1200BBAEBOX Desktop Processor

- ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1060 Mini, ZT-P10600A-10L, 6GB GDDR5 Super Compact

- MSI B350M PRO-VH PLUS AM4 AMD B350 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

- Crucial MX300 2.5" 525GB SATA III 3D NAND Internal Solid State Drive

- Thermaltake Smart Series 500W SLI/CrossFire Ready Continuous Power ATX 12V V2.3

- G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200) Intel Z170 Platform

All for a total of $739.43.
Please tell me your thoughts and make suggestions. I’ve never owned a desktop before. Is it possible to run these games with my budget?

If the price needs to be lower then change the RAM to 2x4GB.

Add bit more to your budget and go for this build. It will be huge improvement over the one you listed(60-80% better).
Add second 8GB RAM stick in future. For now 8GB will be enough.

Jump the Ryzen 3 to a 5 and it looks great. Gtx 1060 can handle it. The SSD will only improve loading times, so I think switching out to a 1 tb hdd and saving some more money for parts (also upgrading the gpu) may help. You can always throw in a 120 gb SSD for os and frequent apps.

Unless you are gaming above 1080 resolution or on multiple monitors, the GTX 1060 6GB will be just fine.
