HELP! Bios flash isn't doing anything!

I got an update notification on my Dell Inspiron N5050 laptop to update my Bios. It gave a bunch of warning to be careful and not turn off my PC, I accepted the warnings and decided to flash Bios from within windows. For some reason after I clicked 'ok' to install the new bios absolutely nothing happened, the window just closed and absolutely nothing else popped up. I'm not sure what happened, but I've left the computer for over 2 hours thinking something was happening in the background but nothing happened, I'm still too afraid to turn off my laptop thinking something might get corrupted and brick my laptop. What should I do?

Took a leap of faith and restarted it, it's working fine, thanks for building up my courage to do it. Not sure what happened to my install though, weird. Not planning on trying again.

I would contact Dell Support and ask them about this Bios Update notification you received. It may not be from Dell, but some kind of malware on your laptop.
