Need To Activate All Phones Lines IN House

Hey, so like the title says, I'm trying to figure out how to activate all the phone lines in my house. Sounds stupid, but that's what the tech said that Comporium sent to hook up my internet. I guess they only think you should be using one line for the modem they give you, however, I want to be able to hook another modem up on the other side of the house for extended range and extra ethernet ports (at a convenient location). I have a box outside I can take pictures of if that helps. Atm I'm a little desperate, but not desperate enough to do anything illegal or anything. Thanks in advance for the help guys.

P.S. I'm a networking noob

I was afraid of that. I was hoping to not have to bridge it and take up a port on my main router, but I guess that's my only option.

Using up a port on the router is easily alleviated by a simple 10/100/1000 switch. $15-$20.

Didn't even think about that either. I might just pick a switch up too.
