So i just bought a new SDD for my mini itx build. (Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-Z270N-Gaming 5 Mini ITX)
I currently have 1 M.2 drive on the back of my board, 1 HHD plugged into sata, and 1 SSD plugged into sata.
I am aware that having an M.2 will occupy a number of sata3 ports but when i added my new SSD into the SATA3 1, it still did not register :/....
I looked at my manual and it says the M.2 only occupies the SATA3 0 slot. Therefore i am confused as to why my new SSD in the SATA3 1 slot isnt registering.

PLEASE HELP, MUST ADD MORE GAMES!!!!

Solution
"won't register"...where, exactly?
Just not seeing it in This PC?

Maybe it just needs to be initialized.
Does it appear in Disk Management?
For any new storage device, you need to make it known to windows.
Go to control panel/administrative tools.
Open computer management, dbl click storage, dbl click disk management, and you should see the new device.
Likely, you need to format it.
