Hello, I have a EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti SC+ GAMING ACX 2.0+, i7 7700k CPU, 16gb RAM. Can my graphics card handle 1440p @165hz on the PG278QR monitor?
Absolutely Friend, though not on all titles at highest settings. It's going to be a balancing act between graphical settings an FPS. I personally see the biggest difference starting at 90hz/fps with diminished returns past 120hz/fps.
It depends on the games. On games like BF4, it should handle roughly 80 FPS. But newer games would be a slight struggle, unless of course, you are willing to turn down the settings, in which case, yes, it should be okay.

Thanks for the answers guys! Should I just upgrade my GPU then to a 1080ti? I've been looking at the EVGA 1080ti FTW3 edition

First time replying sorry if im doing this wrong. I have a 980 TI paired with a PG279Q and it is an incredible experience. G-Sync does it all when you can't hit 165hz, which you won't on modern titles on ultra but will get 100+ easily with settings to high. I'd say keep your 980 Ti and skip a generation or two... Cheers
