Hey all,

I have spent the last few days trying to fix this problem to no avail. I upgraded my mobo, cpu and ram recently and since then games are crashing after a few minutes.

They either freeze and boot to desktop, or fully lock up my computer, occasionally cpu just turns off.

I upgraded to:
mobo: ASrock AB350 Pro AM4
pcu: Ryzen 1700x
Ram: GEIL DDR4 2400MHz

Original parts:
GFX: AMD Radeon r9 390
Samsumg EVO SSD
650w Antec PSU
Benq 144hz monitor 2411
Samsung LED monitor BX2450

Games that are crashing:
PUBG
Overwatch - Full crash (Usually has "Rendering device has been lost" error - However I was getting this error sometimes before the upgrade and it seems to be a common error since a recent update)
CS:GO (CS Freezes up for 5-10 seconds but manages to save itself)
Haven't tried any others.

Type of Crash:
Basically just a freeze at a random time, could be in the menu, could be during a gun battle - Nearly always it freezes after a very small tear/glitch in the picture, then sound will continue for a few seconds then loop. It will crash the game and return me to desktop - but desktop will remain unresponsive for another 10-30 seconds or until I manage to find the mouse on my second screen and end the process.

Things I have tried:

Moved games to second HDD, - no help
Reverted to non xmp ram profile (Back to default)
Bios is up to date
Tried 3 different AMD GFX Drivers
Monitored temperatures - nothing out of ordinary
Cleaned up fans, case, blown out dust, checked airflow, checked connections.

One thing I noticed is that the GFX card doesn't seem to fit very well in the mobo, screwing it all the way in presses on the mobo? But it is sitting nicely in the slot

I mentioned my monitors earlier because the crashes seem to happen often when I change from second monitor back to game monitor.

"Windows Refresh" as a sort of format

I installed a heatsink on the cpu, and I think I put down slightly too much thermal paste (Was reading about it after it was already installed) - however the CPU is not overheating so probably not an issue?

This is an interesting thread from last year that seemed to have a similar problem - solved by buying a new mobo (Which I would rather not do considering I just bought one)

It is late here in Australia - I just wanted to ask for some help tonight and have a read in the morning, any help would be hugely appreciated.

Tomorrow I will probably try:

Using just 1 stick of ram,

Uninstalling and reinstalling PUBG (Probably pointless?)

I guess I could put my gfx card back in my old cpu - but this is all I can test as the 1700 needed the new mobo and ram.

Maybe do a full format?

Thanks again.
