Bad Ram or Motherboard?

Hi all,

I'm using 16GBx2 sticks of Team Vulcan ddr4 2400mhz memory with an MSI raider x299 mobo and i7-7800x processor.

Whenever I try boot with both sticks installed in the C1 and A1 slots (as per mobo instructions) the CPU and DRAM EZ debug Leds alternate flashing. The beep code is 3 beeps and it keeps repeating.

Whenever I try boot with one stick in the C1 slot (as per mobo instructions) the same thing as above happens, but when I try with the other stick I get the DRAM EZ debug led on solidly with a beep code of 3 long beeps - which is a memory issue according to mobo manual.

My doubt is since I get two different styles of errors depending on which RAM stick I have installed, is the problem RAM or mobo related?

Link for RAM is https://www.overclockers.co.uk/team-group-vulcan-t-force-32gb-2x16gb-ddr4-pc4-19200c14-2400mhz-dual-channel-kit-grey-tlgd432g2-my-08h-tg.html - I have seen in many reviews that people get bad modules of it so I suspect that, doubt mobo because the error is slightly different depending on stick installed.

Appreciate any insight at all!

Thanks,

Akhil

Cmos with only one stick - is that putting one stick in, doing a cmos reset and then trying to boot up?
