Can I use 2x SATA to PCIE 6pin Connectors on the same cable coming from the power supply?

Hey guys,

I have a power supply (Corsair VS550) and it has 2x PCIE 6-pin connectors.

I am looking to install a second GTX 970 that requires another 2x 6pin PCIE connectors to power it but unfortunately my power supply only has 2.

Would I be able to use 2x SATA to PCIE 6pin converters where the 2 SATA power connectors are on the same cable coming from the power supply? Or would I be better using 1 SATA to 6pin PCIE converter and 1 MOLEX to 6pin PCIE converter (as they will be on different cables from the PSU)

Thanks in advance,
Adam

No. SATA connectors have tiny pins not designed for that kind of load. Better to use Molex from different daisy chains if you absolutely want to chance it. I doubt the PSU will handle dual 970s at full load. Best to get a 700W PSU that can handle the load properly. It will have the necessary number of connectors for SLI.
