I just recently bought a 1070ti and it has just arrived at my house. After opening the bod and taking a look at the card i see it has a 6 pin port and an 8 pin port. Now, i know the 8 pin is the pcie slot, but is the 6 pin slot just for more power to the card? And what cable should i use to connect it from the psu to the gpu? Ask me if u need me to clarify anything because this sounds poorly worded

PSU - https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182300&cm_re=rosewill_arc_m650-_-17-182-300-_-Product

NEW GPU - https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137254

Solution
Both the six- and eight-pin connectors are extra power connectors. The card gets a certain amount of power from the PCIe connection (the long slot it slides into) but high-end cards require more power than that provides. The PSU should have two cables marked "PCIe" or that look like the six-pin with an extra two separate on the side (6+2=8 for the larger connector). Plug both in,

Make sure the PC is unplugged while doing all this, then start up and install gpu driver.

Unfortunately my PSU has only one PCIe, and the SATA,/Peripheral/&Floppy Connector. So basically one PCIe, three 6 pin ports, and built into it (its semi modular): a 24 pin, and the CPU power cable. What do I do from here?

The specs in the link for that PSU indicate "2 x 6+2-Pin PCI-E Connector"

IOW, two of these:

Those go into the two power ports in question.

ya I just realized the 8 pin cable splits into two 6+2 connectors on the other end. Is that what u mean; plug in one 6+2 connector into the 8 pin on the gpu and plug only 6 and leave "2 part hanging out"? Thanks
