Hi, this is my first post, and I'm unsure if this is the right category, but there wasn't an audio category and this is an issue with the motherboard audio, so best bet!

My problem is that my onboard audio device (Realtek) is no longer detected, so my rear I/O audio ports and my front panel ports do not work. This happened after I did a fresh install of Windows 10 to get rid of a virus (the audio worked perfectly fine before). After finding the proper drivers and installing and reinstalling multiple times, the realtek audio device does not show up in device manager or in Sounds.

All the posts I've searched involved hardware failure, which is odd since all I did was reinstall Windows, and reinstalling audio controllers or drivers, none of which worked.

Sound works fine out of my monitor through the GPU HDMI, but it does't have a subwoofer so I can't produce music.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Specs
Viking Pegatron mobo, Intel code 2B3A, from the HP Envy Phoenix 850 series
Radeon HD 7870
Intel Core i7 5820K
Enermax Ostrog case
Mushkin Enhanced 16 gb ram (2x8gb)
Geil Evo Potenza 16gb ram (2x8gb)

Solution
Management of multiple sound devices is done in Windows Control panel. You actually need to choose one of many options. New installations of products that have a sound device will often make that the default sound device.

Thanks for the reply, but the only thing that shows up in control panel, either Sounds or Device Manager, is the AMD audio device. The AMD audio device is physically run through the HDMI port of my GPU. I can't select or even see the Realtek Device Drivers that are physically run through the rear Audio jacks or the front audio jacks. I'm trying to get the front and rear audio jacks to work again.
