Chkdsk taking long to read only, can I cancel?

So I am doing a chkdsk for my SSD because I am stuck out of Win. I made chkdsk read only so I could just find out the problem first and then fix it with chkdsk. But the ETA is gone up to 29 hours. So I am assuming (idk if i should lol) that there is most likely a problem with my SSD. I donʻt want to wait until the read is done and then do the fix and wait the same length. Would cancelling the read-only chkdsk do damage? Help is very obliged

Quick update: The ETA has gone down drastically, now only 10 hours. It was at 34 hours a couple minutes ago, talk about windows with the trick play

Solution
There's no "trick play", it obviously run into some at least suspicious sectors and has to recheck them or move data, Eta can't be known just as much you can't know how long you are going to get stuck in traffic. It may start moving but you can't know if it's going to stop at next corner.
Since you are using check only option you can stop it at any time.
