so i recently bought an astro gaming mixamp pro kit(2013) and an asus xonar dgx sound card. i connected everything correctly but im still not getting any sound from my mixamp after connecting it to the sound card. yes i have gone into settings and made sure my computer was routing sound to s/pdif. after further testing to get it to work, the sound card was not picking up my voice either. im some what tech savy but this has tilt me pretty hard and im starting to think that my mixamp is broken but im not looking to go off and purchase another until i am certain that its fried. If you guys have any knowledge or ideas of what the issue might be please share as im getting quite irritated with this sound card/mixamp balogna bussiness.

I haven't connected a Xonar via SPDIF in a while, and don't have the control panel in front of me (at work). From what I recall offhand:

1: Make sure that "Speakers" (Asus Xonar Audio Device [or similar]) is selected as the default audio output device from within the Windows Control Panel. This may sound incorrect, but do NOT select the S/PDIF one; doing so will limit you to stereo output.

2: From within the ASUS Audio control panel, you need to set the following settings:

Audio Channel: 6 Channels
Sample Rate: Either 48 or 44.1 KHz
Analog Out: N/A
SPDIF Out: Checked, PCM (for testing)

If you want Dolby/DTS out of SPDIF, you'll probably need to set that from the SPDIF dropdown menu, and probably enable Dolby Digital Live or DTS-C to turn on the realtime encoder.

When I'm home later today, I'll look at the settings again, but I'm 99% sure that should at least get SPDIF output out of the sound card.
