Hello,

So i've been trying to install Windows 7 on my early 2008 macbook but i need the superdrive to do that

Unfortunately, most discs that i insert would stay there for like 20 seconds and then they get ejected, it does detect that i inserted a disc and tries to read it but as i said it still ejects it, it even rejects blank ones

I do remember that not too long ago i got it to successfully read a disc, if memory serves it was the only disc it didn't reject

So i think that installing Windows 7 via the superdrive is out of the question
i tried booting via a bootable Windows 7 flash drive but it was not showing up in the Macbook's boot menu

Is there ANYWAY i can install Windows 7 WITHOUT using the stupid superdrive?

Thanks for looking, help is appreciated

Thanks for the help everyone

i managed to get the USB flash drive to show up as "EFI Boot" by formatting the flash drive as FAT32 with a MBR UFEI partition table

However when i try to boot from it the whole thing freezes and does nothing

What osx is this running on since usb support is only available since 10.8 if I remember right.
