Will the connectors on this atx mid tower case fit with my MOBO?

Solution
"Cool" is subjective, I guess..... but the MasterBox Lite I linked should be "cool" enough.... although it won't support the DVD drive (optical drives aren't too necessary in 2017 - outside of a few, select situations.... or personal preference, of course).

Ultimately, build quality first an foremost would make cases 'better' than another. Ease of building in, airflow etc all play a part too.

While that DIYPC case is far from the worst ever - it's likely to have some sharp corners/edges internally.
Whether your husband is assembling, or perhaps he's going to have your son help? I'm sure either/both would appreciate minimal sharp edges to catch themselves on.

While the case is a "budget" offering, with a budget of <$50 - there are...

Front panel power/reset/audio, USB 2.0 and 3.0?

YEah, your motherboard has all of those ports/headers...... not a problem at all.

The case is pretty cheap in quality though. Unless you need the orange/black theme, or the 3x 120mm fans included), I'd suggest alternatives like the MasteRBox Lite 5

What makes one case better than the other?

We are building a computer for my 8 year old son. My husband is big into gaming but he buys all high end stuff (not gonna happen for my son) and he's currently working over time and doesn't' have time to google all this stuff so a lot of the part buying is falling on me. Basically here are the parts we have accumulated so far, see below. So what is a good ATX mid tower case that doesn't break the budget ($50 or under) that I should buy and will fit all this stuff. Remember he's 8 so the cool factor will play a small part in it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Video Card: GTX 560
Processor: AMD 8320E and fan
MOBO: ASUS M5A78L-M
RAM: 8GB Crucial Ballistic Ram Sport Stick
DVD Drive: Asus Black SATA 24X DVDRW Model DRW-24F1ST/BLK/B/GEN

While the case is a "budget" offering, with a budget of <$50 - there are many options...... lots of which should be "better" in build quality. Doesn't make the case you linked "bad" by any means..... it'll do what it's supposed to. At $35 it looks a heck of a lot better than it did at it's $50 original list price, that's for sure!

For example, the NZXT S340 is one of the most popular cases in recent years.... and it's $50 after a $15 mail in rebate.

Also won't support the DVD drive though.

The Thermaltake Commander could be considered "Cool" at $47.... depending on perception, I guess (hard to assume for an 8yo). Supports the optical drive too.

The Corsair 100R is another popular case. $50 then a $10 rebate. Supports the drive.
