Hey everyone. So I have a CoolerMaster MasterKeys Lite L RGB and I want to exchange to a mechanical keyboard. In fact I'm looking for Razer Blackwidow Chroma. However I have a guy that maked me an offer.: I give him my CoolerMaster keyboard more 40€ and he gives me his Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2013. Should I avance with the trade?

HyperX Alloy seems fine. Cherry switches and metal chassis - always a good combo. Any mech keyboard with genuine Cherry switches are the most consistently good.

If it was me, I do not like the prospect of used keyboards, especially ones that are more than 3-4 years old. Even though the old Razer keyboards used genuine Cherry switches, which are amazing, it would be better to get your money's worth and buy a brand new one that will last for 3-4 more years. With a keyboard that old, there is no guarantee that one if the switches won't die out sooner than a new mech keyboard would.

There are quite a few keyboards on sale still, so I would buy a new one. IMO it's only worth getting a used keyboard if it hasn't been extensively used. The Ultimate 2013 was a good keyboard, but many of the newer mech keyboards today just do the job far, far better.

I would avoid Razer keyboards. While the older ones were quite good for their time, they are aging, and the newer ones are using a cheaper kind of switch that is more prone to breaking and ultimately isn't as reliable as cherry switches (they use a custom version of Kailh switches, which are basically knock off cherry's).

I would keep your current keyboard since most used keyboards aren't ideal and any new mechanical keyboard will probably be out of your budget. A used Corsair Strafe or K70 wouldn't be bad at all, any Logitech mech keyboard is fine (they use either cherry or romer-G, both of which are just fine), and basically any of Steelseries' mech keyboards are fine.
