A while ago my gtx 780ti broke and had massive artifacting problems and currently I am using my gtx 690 for my gaming.
Recently I purchased a mixed reality headset and need a gpu upgrade to run it well due to no sli support.

So the question is if any VR ready cards (980ti, 1070, 1080, 1070ti, fury x) support my 780ti's cooler because of how good it was.

I know how to put together a aftermarket cooler on a gpu I have seen that some similar coolers support 780ti and newer cards such as the 10 series but it may be due to the cooler being made well.

My old 780ti Gainward Phantom

and yes i'm selling the 690 after I upgrade if anyone is interested

I can't help you with specific information but I can point one thing out. Newer cards are much more efficient than the older cards. They use less power, which translates into generating less heat. So there's no upside to using your old cooler, other than just using it for the sake of using it.

What I'd do is look at third party coolers for the 780 Ti, and see if any are also usable for the newer Nvidia cards. If they are, this might mean these models may be able to use your cooler. If the new models aren't listed as compatible then that's a good indication that the cooler was for the 780 only.
