PC Freezing After Hardware Upgrade

So i upgraded my motherboard, ram, and processor two weeks ago and since then my PC has randomly been freezing.
Most of the freezing occurs while gaming, but from time to time it will also freeze while i'm listening to music, or even away from the computer.

My system is as below

CPU: Intel i5-7600k
RAM: Corsair Reveangence LED 16gb (2x8gb) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3000 (PC4 24000)
Motherboard: ASUS Prime Z270-A
GPU: MSI GTX 970
PSU: EVGA SuperNova 1000W 80+ Gold
Storage: Kingston SSD 120 gb, 1tb WD Blue HDD

I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out the issue.
Below I've listed what I've tried to figure out the issue,

- Running memtest 64 on both sticks of ram(led to two bsods with one stick which eventually worked. Both sticks worked in safe mode and afterwards in regular bootup, yet when both plugged in, the test freezes my computer.)
- Running Burnintest(led to PC freezing after a few minutes)
- Reinstalling windows on my ssd(caused freezing issue to become less frequent, but it still remains an issue)
-Checking Eventviewer and windows logs(Didn't reveal any issues aside from my having to reset the PC during freezes)

What should I do now? I could replace all the parts to see if the issue lies within any of them, but I'm hoping to be able to single out the issue and not have to replace all of my new parts.

Memtest86 is what I use for the odd times I think RAM is causing problems.

You made mention of issues with both sticks installed when using Memtest64. Would point to a faulty stick of RAM , if you ask me.

I'd suggest testing each stick, individually under Memtest86 (not Memtest86+) for an hour or two (unless errors are given) to rule out for certain if it's your RAM causing your problems.

Yes I installed all the new drivers for everything from the motherboard website as soon as i reinstalled windows on the ssd.
It didn't seem to help with the freezing issue.

I've tried with both sticks on memtest 64 but i'll try out memtest 86 tonight and update this post with the results.

So i ran memtest86 and it went through all the passes without any errors, yet the freezing problem keeps happening. Not really certain what to do at this point.

My PSU is now nearing two and a half years of use, I can try out a different one in two weeks.

I've done ssd wipes with windows reinstalls, but i can try to do a clean install and see if that fixes the issue.

Okay, so I did a clean install of windows on my ssd. Everything was going perfectly, PC ran fine for hours with browsing.

I opened up a game and the instant I did something in game, the pc froze.

Does this mean it's a hardware error?

Yes, i am running the most current bios for my motherboard. This morning my computer froze while listening to music on spotify and transferring files to my desktop.

So I opened up my PC and reseated the cpu and switches the outlets where i had my wires connected into my PSU and the freezing problem has become a lot less frequent and seems to be more random than simply associated with gaming now.

Usually I would get 4-6 freezes within a day and now I'm getting 1-2. It still concerns me that my PC is randomly freezing up with no error logs or anything though.

Is this new development helpful at pinpointing the issue?

Do you have a spare SATA cable you could swap on your SSD?

Yes, i've switched around Sata cables from my old motherboard and my new motherboard for both drives and no combination seems to be stopping the freezing issue

It kind of sounds like a disconnect is happening based on what you're describing - could be the SSD itself or perhaps the SATA port on the motherboard.

Have you tried to just unplug your HDD (leave it unplugged) and testing the SSD on another SATA port on the motherboard?
You could also try running the Kingston Toolbox software on your SSD and see what it says about your SSD.

I unplugged my HDD and my PC still froze while i tested other SATA ports. I also ran the kingston tool on my SSD and it said everything was fine.

The freezing issue has become even more frequent now with my PC freezing 5 times in the last hour. I don't know if it's significant, but the PC seems to freeze more when i play Hollow Knight than when i play Rocket League. I don't know what could be a significant difference between the two.
