i have a F2A78M-DS2 motherboard is it possible to put a gtx 960 in it? i also need a suggestion on what amd fm2 cpu as well under £90/£100. also thanks for the help!

First verify which board rev. you have; 3.0, 3.1, 3.2. Then use the CPU support list to find the best CPU you can afford. The Athlon X4 8xx CPUs being the best.

Since you have a GTX 960, you won't need an APU with its integrated GPU (iGPU). You can save some money and get one of the Athlon 8xxK processors. Example Same CPU, just w/ the iGPU disabled.
Pay attention to the BIOS version required (at the end of the row in the chart). You need at least that late or later. If you need to update your BIOS, you can find it on this page.

i have a AMD A4-6300 its very bad and im also thinking of getting a 1050 ti do u think the AMD Athlon X4 860K Quad-Core would less bottle neck it? or would it be perfectly fine?
im also having issues with updating my bios i have windows 7 professional 64 bit and its not letting me update my bios its says its not compatible any help?!

The Athlon X4 860K and GTX 1050 Ti are perfect together.

How are you trying to update the BIOS? Walk me thru the steps you are taking. And list the BIOS your motherboard has now.
Gigabyte usually offers 3 ways to flash the BIOS. Depending on which board you have, of course. I usually use @BIOS from the Win environment.
But always be sure your PC is 100% stable before you attempt a flash.

i got the bios to work i wouldnt worry was also wondering this:
i cant afford the x4 860k but i can afford a AMD Athlon X4 845 would this be ok or would it less bottle neck it? (lol that English)

I'm not sure the board would recognize the 845. It isn't on the CPU support list and it is the later Excavator architecture.
Check the prices on the A10-7xxx processors in that list. They are the same CPU as the 8xx CPUs, but with an added iGPU built-in. Sometimes they are found cheaper if they are overstocked at this late date.

Also good, but more expensive, isn't it? The 860k, 870k, 880k are all the same processors. It is just the clock multiplier is bumped up a click on each one.
Here is some multiplayer gameplay using the 860k and a GTX 1050 Ti... BF1, Ultra, 1080p. So you can know what to expect. The CPU is hitting 100% usage while the GPU is humming along at around 35%. But MP gaming on a busy server in a game like BF1 is pretty CPU-intensive.
