I'm not sure if this is actually win10 related, but it started happening right after the upgrade..
So, not matter what I do (watch youtube, play games or just use notepad++ with 1 firefox tab open), CPU temps occasionally spike up to critical levels and then fall down. At first I could not figure out why my PC was randomly shutting down, but then I started logging temps and noticed this weird behaviour, which I'm sure is the cause of shutdowns.
23:07:55 - 57c
23:07:56 - 88c (90c is bios-set limit)
23:07:57 - 79c
During the spike, CPU usage was 13%, but that does not seem to be related to spikes at all.
PC shuts down few times a day because of these spikes. I've noticed that it happens more often with Shadowplay turned on, altought I'm not sure how is that related. Fan is clean and the RPM's are smooth (fan does not appear to be damaged). Not overclocked (ever). Side question - can I increase the max temp to 100c? I'm a bit paranoid about this since that's how I burnt down my old PC, by reaching a temps of 130c with disabled auto-shutdown and dead fans which basically caused literal meltdown of MB and short circuit (shoutout to AMD for actually being able to run under 120c for some time and surviving 130c meltdown, that CPU is still running to this day).
Main specs:
Windows 10 Professional x64
Intel i7 4790k stock (with stock cooler)
Asus Maximus VII Hero
Corsair VS650
Running pretty much 24/7
