I recently purchased a PC from a friend of mine, but it is missing a GPU

Specs:

MSI X370 Gaming Plus MOBO
16GB(2x8) Corsair Vengeance DD4 RAM @ 3000MHz
AMD Ryzen 1700x CPU 8 core @ 3.4GHz (3.8GHZ Turbo)
Corsair Carbide Series 330R Blackout Edition Mid-Tower
Corsair RM750X 750W GOLD Fully Modular PSU
Corsair H100i V2 Liquid CPU Cooler
Samsung 850 EVO 256 GB SSD
WD Blue 1 TB

For the past week I've been researching GPU's and have been constantly going back and forth between the RX 580 8 GB and the 1070 ti. Right now I have a 1080p 60 Hz monitor, so obviously if I went with a higher end card I would also need to upgrade my monitor.

I now have the oppurtunity to buy an EVGA 970 for $80. I feel like it is a steal at this price. Since Ryzen does not have integrated graphics I can't use my PC until I pull the trigger on a GPU, so it's hard to stay patient. I would obviously be planning to upgrade both my GPU and monitor in the future.

Bottom Line: Does it make sense to go with this $80 970 instead of a ~$300 rx 580?

Solution
I think it would be great to get the GTX 970 for $80, and then save for the big upgrades later. Overclocked GTX 970 can go even with stock GTX 980, so it can hang with GTX 1060/RX 580 when overclocked.

A 970 is a bit slower than a rx 580 but a steal for that price so just get it. All new gpu's are massively overpriced now anyways.
