I recently updated my graphics card (AMD Radeon HD8670D) and my computer now recognizes it as a "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter".
Here's my information.
Operating System
Windows 8.1 64-bit
CPU
AMD A10-6700 94 °C
Richland 32nm Technology
RAM
8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-12-28)
Motherboard
LENOVO 55 °C
Graphics
Acer G236HL (1920x1080@64Hz)
ATI Microsoft Basic Display Adapter (Lenovo)
Storage
931GB Western Digital WDC WD10EZEX-08M2NA0 (SATA) 28 °C
Optical Drives
HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GHB0N
Audio
Realtek High Definition Audio

Something else weird happened, when I went to my device manager, under display adapters it said that my graphics card was still there, I selected it and it said that it had an error (sorry that I can't copy that anymore), and I sort of stupidly I went over to the Driver section and I pressed update driver. After I did that then the AMD Radeon 8670D from the Device manager, disappeared! It turned into a Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. If you need more information then I'll reply back.

Also, just one more thing, I have a Lenovo H535.
