I am planning to upgrade my current intel processor which is an intel i3 6100. I bought this proc roughly 2 years ago for a budget build ( see my build here: https://pcpartpicker.com/b/BX4CmG ) and is still doing fine running modern titles at Medium-High settings. However, I recently bought a GTX 1070 and I can tell that my i3 is having a hard time keeping up due to 40-60% usage on the GPU while the CPU is running at 100%. I know my GPU is an overkill for this proc but I only had the budget for a GPU upgrade at the time.

My question is, is it worth upgrading from Skylake to Kabylake? And should I go for an i5 or go straight i7?
Note: I also consider buying the non-K variant of these procsif the performance is close. And, I am only using a 1080p 60Hz monitor but I plan on buying a 1440p 60Hz/1080p 144Hz monitor in the future.
Price of the processors in my country for comparison:

i5
6600 - $160 (2nd Hand)
6600k - $180 (2nd Hand)
7600 - $220 (Bnew)
7600k - $240 (Bnew)
i7
6700 - $200 (2nd Hand)
6700k - $220 (2nd Hand)
7700 - $300 (Bnew)
7700k - $340 (Bnew)

Actually, I would say go with the 6600k or 6700k, (yes non k variant will be fine) because if you compare the 6600 to a 7600, they literally have a difference of 1-5 fps in most games which isn't that big of a deal, also if you just gaming then an i5 is fine, if you plan on doing anything like rendering or content creation, or streaming go with an i7, the extre threads wont really effect much when gaming
well the 7700k is the best for gaming and will work perfectly for you with the GTX 1070
but if you are short on $$ get the 7600K that will do the job too perfectly

EDIT
But that motherboard you have is not for Overclocking..
so you should go with the 7700 Non K
