When trying to create an access point for my network using an old netgear router(WGT634U) from my gigabit normal router, I connect a cable from the original router to one of the LAN ports on router B, and a cable from router B to my computer using another LAN port. I didn't use the WAN port because I read that you shouldn't us the WAN port when setting up an AP.
My problem is, my computer seems to be sort of ignoring router B; it connects fine to the internet via ethernet, but I cannot access router Bs settings page via it's IP. I can access the original router's settings page via that IP though.
Router B is also not amplifying wifi signal as intended either.
I have accessed the router B settings once by using the WAN port, but the connection is really inconsistent, and I dont think that the WAN port is supposed to be used for an access point anyways.
Bottom line, anybody have an idea what is going wrong here? How can I access router Bs settings?
