Last night it took me from 5 to 10 to build my first pc. I watched 10 videos beforehand. I plugged in everything correctly and was surprised when all it did when I pressed the on button was turn on the power supply for about 10 seconds then it turned off. The fans, RGB lights on the motherboard, led for power switch, and CPU fan won’t work. I had my RGB keyboard and mouse in at the time and they were lighting up. The light above the socket where you plug in the PCI-e slot for the graphics card was on too. I plugged in every fan and they won’t work, I unplugged and replugged every thing on the motherboard and power supply. I have an Intel i3 7100 processor, Gigabyte H270 Gaming 3 motherboard, G.Skill Ripjaws 8gb 2800 memory, Crucial 275gb storage, Azza Titan 240 CSAZ case, Rosewill Photon 850 Power Supply, TP-Link N900 Wireless PCI-e adapter, and a ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 3gb dual fan OC edition. I am ready to go to a computer professional. If there is an easy fix I won’t. Again, when I press the on button that doesn’t even have the led like it is supposed to, only the power supply turns on for about 10 seconds and then turns off, nothing else works. Tell me if there is anything I can do to fix it or if I should go to a professional.

Your PSU is fully modular. Take the PSU out of the case but leave everything plugged in. (fans, GPU, board, etc.) Double check every connection is going in where it's supposed to be. My gut says you have a cable plugged into the PSU wrong. Probably the 8pin plug for the board.

unplug the 4 pin connector. boot your pc. it should work. then - switch you psu off, reconnect your 4 pin connector [the one that supplies the cpu with power] BUT - DO NOT FORCE THE 4 PIN PLUG ALL THE WAY IN - just leave it sort of hanging in there. boot your system again, you'll get the bios screen. press f1. it'll boot windows. happy camping!

That is absolutely the worst advice I have ever seen someone post on here.
