Just today after i did a windows 10 update my CPU usage spikes when i open up a new tab or switch a tab in google chrome. It doesnt not do this on Edge. I have restarted my PC and powered it off. I checked to see if any other programs are causing it but it is just chrome. Any ideas on why this is happening and how to resolve?

Those spikes that you see are just from opening/switching tabs. Thanks in advance.

Solution
Chrome uses a lot of resources, so this is likely normal. It is one of the ways it seems faster. You might want to check what plugins you have installed within chrome. Run malwarebytes anti-malware. Empty the temp files (%temp% and %windir%\temp) (Might sound odd, but can impact CPU usage). Check autoruns (from Sysinternals) for things which might auto-start and possibly interact with Chrome.

But bottom line is, I expect a little maint. is good for your PC, but it sounds like Chrome is just doing what Chrome does.
