Can a MSI B250M Gaming Pro Motherboard work with an I7-6700K?

Solution

It will. However you won't be able to overclock. For that you need a z170 or z270.

Those are not i7 chips. They are i5. The 7600k is 300mhz faster. The 'k' version is also overclockable with the right motherboard and good cooling.

Apart from OK-ability, a bit higher clock speed for the k version. But the price is also higher.
