This started happening like 3 weeks ago, maybe a month already. It all started that day were a couple factors could’ve killed my gpu.

One of them is when my girlfriend and I decided to watch a movie on my computer, but since the screen is not so big and the bed is far away from the computer, I decided to connect my 36 inch tv to the hdmi port. I don’t know if I was way too forceful and rude connecting the cable, but I think that’s one of the possible Reasons of why my gpu died.

The second one was that, later that day, we decided that the movie was way too bad, so we said to each other that is better to spend time playing a couple LoL games.
I normally have my case opened since it is so old and small that there’s not enough air flow and the heat gets way too high. I put a fan besides it most of the time to keep cpu cool (yeah, I only use it because of the cpu,my gpu never reached a temp over 55C).
The point is that while playing my girlfriend accidentally pulled the PCIe power cables. Even though she said she didn’t pull it that hard, I think it might be one more reason why my gpu is dead.

When I took her home and came back I turned on my computer and played like 2 games. While playing the third one my monitor just went on power save mode but I could still hear people talking through discord, but the game sound stopped. They told me that my game disconnected. I rebooted my pc and went in the game again, but it kept happening.
The other day when I tried to turn on my computer, this “please power down and connect the pcie power cables for this graphics card” on a black screen.

Now every time I try to turn on my pc it either shows me that message, or my monitor goes into power save mode while on startup. And the only way to reboot my pc is doing a forceful reboot.

I repit, my temps are always fine.

My specs are:
MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 2GB
AMD FX8350 4.0 GHz
ASUS M5A99FX r2.0
Ripjaws 8GB Ram (x2 4GB)
Western Digital 1TB HDD
CORSAIR CX750M (750w)

Solution
If your power cables are connected properly, the fact that they were yanked out before could have easily damaged the connections. If you are lucky it may be a simple soldering job to fix, but you should look around for the cost to do that, it may be worth it to just get a $200 new card.
