Hey guys! I'm looking to give the gift of PC gaming to someone dear to me this Christmas who lives out of state. He's never had any experience with computers, but recently I've learned of the GTX 1050 and the GTX 1050 ti and the possibilities seem to have really opened up from a budget perspective.

Ideally, I'd like him to have the least amount of effort involved in placing it together, so I was thinking of Ebaying a dell optiplex and having him slap in a 1050 or 1050ti. The thing is, I have little experience with ebay shopping for prebuilt old pcs, and was wondering what I needed to look for/lookout for. I've seen that the cheaper ones don't have windows installed, so wasn't sure of how to cheaply handle that.

Aside from an optiplex route, my budget would be in the $200-450 range, any ideas or suggestions?

Can maybe look at something like this,

Not sold by Newegg themselves, but from "Sold and Shipped by PC Server and Parts" , look carefully at the next so read that info,

Overview
Specifications
Warranty & Returns

Use the next way to use W10 to solve the operating system being not there,

guess this still works, but don't know for how long.

For gpu something like this...
If you want to slap in a gpu without any power connectors, u should look for low profile models. It's better to search for pre-built with atleast 340-380w psu. Some come with a 240w psu and those won't do if you want to add a 1050ti.

Look for a pre built with an i5 7500 and 2x4gb ram.

Like the above system for the 16gb of ram and the ssd,but if you don't want to go for this are the next also options,

good enough systems to get into pc gaming, not the latest tech though.

If that i5 7500 above can be done is that nice of course.
