I'm new to building computers. I have my os installed on an ssd, but i want to make the 2tb hdd i have installed the default download drive, so i dont have to keep redirecting it, how do i do that?

And i've already changed the download location in google chrome but that doesnt seem to be doing anything, it still keeps trying to install onto the ssd, and sometimes I'm not even prompted to change the install location.

I would love your guys help. Cheers.

For application installs, that is a whole other thing. Yes, those default to the C drive.
For the majority of applications, you can change where that installs to, while you install that particular program.

During the install, select Custom or Advanced.
Then you designate where it installs to.

For Steam games, see this:
Steam games location
In the steam client:
Steam
Settings
Downloads
Steam Library Folders
Add library folder

To move an already installed game
Games library
Right click the game
Properties
Local Files
Move Install Folder
