just recently bought a new pc from cyberpower, specs are as listed
----------
CPU: i7-8700k
GPU: EVGA GeForce® GTX 1080 Ti FTW3
MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-Z370XP-SLI ATX
PSU: 650 Watts - Corsair CSM Series CS650M
RAM: 16GB (8GBx2) RGB Lightning DDR4/3000MHz
HDD: 3TB (3TBx1) SATA-III 6.0Gb/s 64MB Cache 7200RPM HDD
SSD: 256GB ADATA XPG GAMMIX S10 PCIe M.2 SSD
SSD#2: Free 256GB WD Black Series PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD
----------

my monitor is a acer predator XB241H 24in, 1920x1080, 144hz

whenever i play csgo or fortnite (on low-medium settings) my fps is anywhere from 100-200, given that i have a 1080 Ti it should definitely be higher and i'm using a 144hz monitor. All of the drivers are updated.

I understand it's a vague question, just looking for anything obvious I haven't checked for yet. Any help is appreciated, Thanks.

Solution

Hmmm

I know that CS:GO is fuc*ing up the game with every new update.
I had similar problems and they fixed it with next update and I updated my radeon drivers just in case and it helped more or less.
Maybe try to unpark...

Ok.

Next thing to do is to set Windows to High performance.
After that would try to lock at 160 just to be sure.

You will find that option easily on internet.
Try that and write us report here again.

It should be added in Launch options(just copy it and paste it).
Right click on Game in library and go into: Properties -> Launch options
There will (in Properties) also be checkbox for Steam overlay -> Disable it.

i added that and disabled the steam overlay, with no limit on fps it now fluctuates anywhere between 100 - 200, it stayed steady around 130

Maybe try to unpark cores?
Also check the GPU drivers.
Other than that I can barely think of something.
