Upgrading CPU 3770K to 5960x

Hi, i had an offer to buy a 5960x with an asus 99-e motherboard for 500$.

Current configuration:
Asus sabertooth z77
i7 3770k

Computer main use:
Gaming (Mostly on vr), i actually play on oculus rift, yet i wish to move to 8k VR asap.

Is it worth the 500$ or should i go for coffee-lake since it's clock is much higher ?
Can I easly reach coffee-lake performance with a small OC ?

Your build look amazing ^_^

My step brother (who's the one selling it) told me that he would also provide me with a 950w power supply and a watercooler to overclock it for the same price.

Considering that I would have everything I need for the OC, would you still recommend buying coffee-lake ?
