Hello,
so I use an old external 1TB HDD in addition to my 1TB WD Blue main drive. Yesterday I noticed a kind of rattling sound from the external drive and thought I should better get a new drive soon.
Now I see myself before the option of getting a SSHD with the same size or an SSD with at least 160GB, while I'm still looking for good prices for that one, and maybe in addition to that a smaller normal HDD.
The SSD would be used for the main partition to speed up Windows and it would get me free 244GB from the old partition in return (with a few from what is free on the SDD).
I know what you're thinking, but the SSHD can't be underestimated. First off, it's cheaper and not over my budget. But that's not my main point.
It would also be a real upgrade for several reasons:
It would be internal, instead of external. That means many games would load much quicker than they did so far from the external HDD. And it would be a full replacement of 1TB. And its Cache function would probably speed up Windows-bootup and standard programs close to an SSD.
Not only is a single SSD with about 240GB more expensive than a 1TB SSHD, but I would have to get an additional normal HDD for about 30€ instead of paying once, and this would still probably leave me little short of 1TB.
What do you think?
Also, what SSD brand would you rather recommend, Kingston or SanDisk?
