using pc part pickers power supply calculator. I don't understand one of the options.

Gpu overvoltage %. it ranges from 0-50%. what does 1% equal? in msi afterburner i can overvolt up to 100mv or 0.1v which is not a lot.

im just wondering how i turn 100mv into a percentage so i can determine what psu i need for my system using that calculator.

at 50% it says i need a 950w psu whereas at 0% it says i need a 650w psu. which is crazy varied.

why is 50% even an option i don't get it at all, anyone?

Outervisions SUX just like all calculators.
Post your build on PCpartspicker then post the perma link here I can tell you what you need.
For a 950 Watt PC even with overclocking your using some massively expensive hardware like SLI 1080ti's.
Your not going to get a 50% increase in power on a video card their no way and you could not keep it cool even if you could. (Can you see the smoke being released you would)
With a 50 % power increase on a video card and it jump 300 watts you would need to be using a 600 watt video card!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i know right, i was thinking this is crazy too, so how do i determine the overvolt % lol.

here's my pc in partpicker. some of the parts weren't there so i picked something close to them. e.g. msi 1080 aero instead of 1070ti which is what i have.

it says 446 watt for those parts but that's not including overclocking

Yes their adding 20 watts for each hard drive but your not going to be using all 3 at one time.
The thermal paste is not needed what comes with the cooler will work just as good.
750 watts will let you push everything to the limit.
Note: Wattages are estimates only. Actual power draw may differ from listed values.
