Just built a gaming pc my i7-7700k its a max of 65C and my asus strix 1080 in overclocked mode hits a max of 65C as well, they both run at a average of 60C. Is this safe for 8+ hours of gaming?

Solution
Of course, they are the right temperatures for these hardware pieces, The i7-7700k has a maximum of 100°C Tjuction (Junction Temperature is the maximum temperature allowed at the processor die) Temperature. So, your processors is operating fine. And the STRIX 1080 is operating at it's ideal temperature.
There's nothing to worry about, Happy Gaming! :)
