I have a hard drive that is unbootable. When plugged in as a secondary drive i can view the files. The problem I'm having is the lazesoft key recovery software is showing the office activation key as the windows key (I think). I don't have the cd so I went to the microsoft website to download the iso. When I type in the activation key the software shows i get an error back with Message Code 715-123130. I went to their virtual agent support and typed in that code. It came back with support for microsoft office products. Is there any other software that would work or is this a problem with the microsoft website. It's not an oem key because it would tell me it's oem after entering the activation key.

Solution
The key is in the windows registry.
Exactly how to find it, I do not know.
If you can read the drive, you should be able to find it.
I use "magical jellybean keyfinder" a free app.
I do not know if it only looks at the C drive, or if there is an option to point to a different drive.
