I have Asus P5G41T-M LX MOBO and it currently uses KVR1333D3N9/2G RAM. I tried to upgrade RAM with KVR13N9S8/4 (4Gb) but the PC doesn't even boot with a new memory stick. I tried to install it into both slots (one by one) but the PC still doesn't boot, no even any start beeps. Note that my trials were with only a new stick (KVR13N9S8/4) without installing an old one. When I remove new memory stick and install back the old one (2GB) everithing works fine.
Does the new memory compatible with the motherboard? The MOBO specs (https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/P5G41TM_LX/specifications/) says that:
2 x240-pin DIMM, Max. 8 GB, DDR3 1333(O.C.)/1066/800 Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel memory architecture
** Refer to www.asus.com or user manual for Memory QVL (Qualify Vendor List)
*** When installing total memory of 4GB capacity or more, Windows® 32-bit operation system may only recognize less than 3GB. Hence, a total installed memory of less than 3GB is recommended.
What could be a problem with a new memory? Should I configure something in BIOS settings?
